We participated in the 2nd Mine Closure Congress 2026, a key gathering space for professionals and companies committed to more sustainable and responsible mining.

The event enabled the exchange of experiences and knowledge regarding the long-term stability and performance of mine closures, highlighting the contribution of engineering and geosynthetics as solutions to the sector’s challenges.

Within this framework, Gustavo Fierro, Corporate Manager of Research, Development, and Innovation in Geosynthetics and Geoproducts at TDM Group, presented a paper titled “Stability of Mine Closure Covers with Vegetative Species and Geosynthetics.” The presentation addressed the integration of engineering, vegetation, and geosynthetic solutions to achieve more stable closures adapted to diverse environments.

Additionally, representing TDM Group were specialists Luis Montañez, Gary Saavedra, Oscar Niño, Augusto Alza, and César Oviedo, who shared the organization’s technical expertise and its focus on solutions for the mining sector.
