In response to the high gradients and velocities present in the project’s canals, specific hydraulic structures were designed that incorporated geocell linings and energy dissipating cubes. This solution significantly reduced the use of steel in the lining and the need for joints between concrete slabs, optimizing both construction time and resources.

Most significant was this solution’s ability to control high-energy water flows, effectively mitigating the erosive effects on slopes and preventing damage to surrounding infrastructure and the natural environment. This ensured safe, sustainable, and highly durable hydraulic operation under extreme conditions.
