PVC sheet piles are prefabricated elements that interlock with one another to form flexible, high-performance retaining walls, ideal for civil engineering works. Thanks to their interlocking design, they provide an effective barrier for supporting excavations, retaining soils or water bodies, and constructing cofferdams in a fast
and safe manner.
This system can be applied in both temporary and permanent solutions, and its installation by vibratory or impact driving allows for reduced execution times and minimal environmental disturbance.
Advantages / Benefits
Guaranteed performance in demanding environments: Corrosion resistance makes them ideal for marine environments or projects exposed to aggressive conditions.
Easy transport and installation: Lightweight elements simplify handling, transport, and installation.
Faster installation without additional processes: No welding or anticorrosion treatments are required.
Reduced long-term maintenance: No need for painting or protective coatings.
Environmental commitment: Do not release harmful chemicals into the environment and are recyclable.
Adaptable and flexible solution: Suitable for a wide range of projects, including dikes, piers, foundation protection, and flood control.

To mitigate the risk of embankment scour caused by the flow of the Caño de La Ahuyama—located between the Pumarejo Bridge and the Rebolo Stream—a highperformance structural solution was implemented to protect road infrastructure, efficiently channel water, and prevent flooding during the rainy season.
The adopted system consisted of a retaining wall composed of vinyl sheet piles, designed not only to withstand hydraulic forces but also to act as a vertical barrier against solid waste and debris discharged into the channel, reinforcing both functionality and aesthetics of the environment.
The intervention included the installation of more than 3,000 synthetic sheet piles along a stretch exceeding 1 km, with exposed heights ranging from 2.00 m to 4.50 m. Each sheet pile was anchored using galvanized steel tie rods connected to a buried anchor beam (deadman), allowing the embedment depth to be reduced by half compared to cantilever systems.
This optimized design improved structural efficiency while enabling faster execution with reduced operational impacts in a critical area of the port corridor.
